Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe has been serving as the Minister of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship, spearheading regional economic growth initiatives since 2023. He is also a Member of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly, representing the constituents of Luyang. As chairman of Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park, he oversees industrial and manufacturing activities in the region. Previously, he held the portfolio of Minister of Youth and Sports from 2019 to 2020, advocating for youth empowerment.

He also went to New Era University College graduating with an Associate Degree in Journalism.
